I developed the specification, designed the application user experience and technically directed this fantastic new development in early-years educational software.

Rich media sites to promote Nokia's mobile music services, incorporating video upload CMS. I technically directed, managed the projects and had a hand in their creative/interactive direction. I liased with Nokia's technical team to integrate the sites with their services. Their music services are Windows/IE only, and if you are not on this platform, your experience will not be optimal.
Photography-driven recruitment site for this boutique hedge fund. I technically/interactively directed the site development and art directed the photography, along with the management of the project overall. The majority of the site is for investors only, and it is secured behind an TLS-protected login system. The entire site is CMS-driven, down to which transition animations occur on which page.
After meeting the project leader on an Agile training course, I was asked to help develop the user interface of this exciting new development in live electronic music, being developed by Birmingham Conservatoire, along with European partners. After several UX iterations we developed an interface which met the needs of the project in a simple and intuitive way, despite containing much complex functionality. This was then graphically designed in-house at Less Rain and handed over to the project for software development.
I pretty much single handedly developed many iterations of Channel 4 Learning's flagship learning product, Clipbank, over 3 years, until Channel 4 Learning was incorporated into Espresso Education Ltd. The product was a desktop application developed in Director and Flash, designed to allow easy search and playlist creation via a number of enormous video libraries. The app. also allowed users to package and share video playlists, with attachments and teaching notes, with other teachers, and the ability to overdub custom voiceovers on existing clips, and even add their own clips to the programme. The aim was to create something as easy to use as iTunes, and I hope that with extensive UX work that we achieved that aim. The project was a huge success and was even used in the High School I attended. I still have a Clipbank promotional mousemat somewhere.
Besides the Clipbank development I was also responsible for auditing Channel 4 Learning's external supplier's code, and wrote Business/Technology research reports for Channel 4, Espresso Education and Online Creative Communications.
I managed the development of Mute.com with my previous company Recollective. A massive undertaking considering Mute's colossal back catalogue of releases stretching back 30 years. I also developed the flash audio player that can be found in the site, which used an innovative method of communicating via local XML sockets to ensure that only one instance of the audio player could be launched - even across browsers.
